    Default Unable to program 18F67J94

Recent upgrade to PBP3 and it is running perfectly with another J-chip(18F26J53). Not so with the 18F67J94. Click program and get "Target device does't match.....)" Tried the usual things all OK. I Have R-checked all traces and all voltages are normal. This chip was mounted on a inline DIP breakout board. No currents above 15-20mA. observed. Is there anyone out there that can confirm that they have used PBP3 with this chip and have had no problems. I may have over looked something or have a couple of dead chips? Thanks.

There's alot of things it could be.

Unlikely there's anything wrong with a new chip from Microchip or any of the big distributors.

Check pinout of chip against breakout board.

Put old chip back in and make sure nothing changed on board.

The melabs website shows that PBP3 supports that chip. I have never seen a defective PIC in all the years I've programming them. More than likely that you are not setting the registers correctly. Check the settings again. The problem might be there.
