I have an automotive project using the CAN bus and I'm planning on using a PIC 18F2480 (same as 18F2580 and 18F2680 but with less memory) together with a MCP2551 CAN chip.

I need a CANWrite and a CANRead command. Are there plans to include any CAN specific PBP commands (similar to I2CWrite etc.) into future releases or have I missed the plot completely and is there already a really easy way to do all of this ?

Alternatively, has any one writen any CAN MPAsm routines that they'd like to put in the public domain (I hate re-inventing the wheel and somebody must have done this before) ?

Do we have in PBP/PIC CAN experts out there who would like to donate some simple comms routines, links as to where there may be some, or some clues as to the best way forwards ?
