    Default range finding HELP

    HI GUYS,

    I am looking for some input into using an SI APD or SI PIN for range finding application in 900nm range , the pulse generated are about 30ns at a max of 1khz

    if anyone has had experience with type of application , please pm me

    the application is to do with lidar reading of low emission detection from Near Infrared laser

    so anyone who has had some experience with the interfacing / amp buffer / pickup of the photodiode ,

    com on guys i know most have played with lidar in some form i am looking at at both e atmosphere measurements and with distance to saturation information over a given time to look at the spectrum

    I would be glad to help, except for the fact that I don't even understand what you're TALKING about! I understand some of the words, but put together in sentences? Not so much

    Well, you are making me feel better. If Longpole expresses himself better he would get more help. I think that he wants to design a device that measures the distance between two points by shinning a red laser to a distant point and reading the laser reflection with a sensor. I don't think too many people in this forum have done that. If this is the case of what you want, just do a Google search for "lidar circuit".

    Actually, mine wasn't a comment on his ability to express himself - it was a comment on my thickheadedness! But thank you for your explanation, I understand what he's trying to achieve now. Still can't help him.......but at least I understand what he wants to do!
