    Default Supported compiler with Proteus VSM; true Windows 7 64 bit compatibility

    In my opinion two features that would really improve the productivity of using the PBP compiler would be:
    1) Making it one of the supported compilers that would work with Proteus VSM schematic capture and simulation tools;
    2) Making the PBP compiler truly compatible with Windows 7 64 bit computers....I have not yet been able to get my PBP 2.6 compiler to work with Windows 7 on my 64 bit machine.
    3) In the interest of an integrated solution, ensure that an integrated package of PBP, MSAM, FineLine, and MPLAB will all work as a more integrated combintation on Windows 7 64 bit machines.

    1) PicBasic Pro works great with Proteus. I use it almost every day.
    2) PicBasic Pro works great with Windows 7-64, that's the OS I use (at work).
    3) PicBasic Pro and MPLAB work great on Windows 7-64.

    Is there a specific problem you are having?

    I use MCSPlus as editor, PICBASIC PRO 2.6C as compiler, MPASM as assembler and PICKIT2 as programmer. Programs compile OK on WIN7-64 machine but I can't seem to get them to assemble/program. Any suggestions?

    I use MCSPlus editor, PBPro 2.6c compiler, MPASM assembler, and PICKIT2 programmer. I don't use MPLAB. My programs that were developed on WINXP compile OK on WIN7-64, but they don'e seem to assemble or program on WIN7-64. Any suggestions?

    Try running the Setup Utility on this page ...It has an effect on MCS too.
    Close MCS and MPLAB before running.

    Make sure your MPLAB installation is current. (even though you don't use the MPLAB IDE)

    Other than that, please be more specific about what errors you are encountering.

    This helped me get it all working under WIN7-64bit. Thanks so much, Darrel!

    Looking at MPLAB IDE (which I have never used) caused me to wonder if there is an equivalent to MPLAB SIM that works with PBPRO source code?? I notice from the WEBINAIR at Microchip that MPLAB SIM works with C source code, but no indication of whether you can also use it with PBPRO or not??

    Yes you can use it with PBP. No problem at all.

    It's not a bug, it's a random feature.
    There's no problem, only learning opportunities.
