    Default Cheap PCB manufacturer

Has anyone here had boards made by http://www.goldphoenixpcb.biz/index.php ?

I'm looking for the best prices on small boards that are panelized & scored to break apart. They seem to offer decent pricing, but I've never dealt with them, and would like to know if they provide good quality boards.

These will be double-sided, but only silk-screned on one side, and I need them scored to seperate individual boards from a larger panel.

    Thanks Mike,

As for the SparkFun advise on board layout, I've had a few hundred thousand boards made, and never had a problem with sloppy drill holes, but i do appreciate the link.

If we did ever have boards made with such sloppy drill holes disconnecting a trace from a via, or lousy etching with ground planes connecting to traces, we definitely would not go with that board house again. That's why we normally have a few proto boards made before going for production quantities..

I'm just looking for the absolute best pricing on panelized boards for the StickOS project.
    Regards,

You may already know this, but just in case. If you have used Sparkfun in the past (i.e. BatchPCB), then you have used Gold Phoenix. Gold Phoenix is the PCB house for BatchPCB. I have not used them directly, but have used BatchPCB with very good results (other than the time of course). The BatchPCB sub-section on the Sparkfun forum has many users of Gold Phoenix.

Sorry I did not have more time to specify... at the bottom of that link in the comments section tere was info on orders from goldphoenix... "Because Gold Phoenix can do down to 7mil for a two-sided board it shows that their masks have quite good resolution."..
I think a while back sparkfun even had an official tutorial on ordering from goldphoenix... but I may be mistaken...

    regards,

    Default more possible options

    Bruce,

Lester referred me to the following for production runs. I've not used them so can comment on the quality, but the pricing looks good, and if Lester recommends them then they must be good

    http://www.wedirekt.de/index.php/pcb

One other recommendation (your side of the pond I think) is http://www.pcbwing.com/index.php?from=everythingpcb

Again, not tried them, but seem to be very competitive on the price and slightly cheaper in comparison for the same board.

    FYI

    1. http://www.baskidevre.com.tr/default.asp?lang=en
    2. http://www.odakpcb.com/Angliyski/

These two PCB makers are located in Turkey and they both export worldwide.

Bruce, I have used gold phoenix almost exclusively for the past 2 years. I have had both production and prototype runs made with them. Overall good pricing, quick turn, and good service.

You can't beat their 100 and 150 sq in prototype prices. I usually put about six designs together at a time and use this option. Pricing with 5 day turn and fedex shipping is about $100-$150.

Payment is through paypal and most transactions are completed through e-mail. If you can get over that they are great to work with.

Since you appear to own the company, I would not think that is a very good recommendation:

    Bruce,

I've used them via Spark Fun's BatchPCB when I wanted just a couple of boards for testing a design. The quality is excellent.

When I need more than a couple of boards, I use ezPCB...Quality, service and delivery times are excellent and they will do non-plated holes and very tight spacing. They also offer assembly at reasonable rates (even for a handful of boards) although I've yet to avail myself of this service.

Oh, and don't let the transparent menus on their web page throw you like they did me initially.

Maybe I misunderstand their "Special" but their prices for 10 pcs are higher than many others and the "Special" seems highly misleading.

When partnering with a PCB manufacturer, it is important to choose a firm with extensive experience. As a customer, you should also be verifying if this firm has a proven track record. Some of the best PCBs are manufactured in America, and that’s reason enough to choose an American manufacturing firm.

As far as I know, there are ton of manufacturers in the west coast of the USA. China's quality is not same as USA manufacturer. I learned this when they always ask for solder balls or any bga accessories.

In the past couple of months, I have been using OSH park.com.
As I understand it, they have become the supplier for Sparkfun. Its the closest thing to the cost and convenience of ExpressPCB for prototyping boards that I have found. They are full spec boards with soldermask and silkscreen. Order one, and get three copies. something like $5 per square inch with all included.

I also understand that they are a order packager, ie: they collect many orders and combine them for a full sheet. I have never had one wait longer than 2 days before the order went in, and since they are manufactured in the US, they come to me fairly quickly. I think they average 10-12 days to my door.

I use Eagle for generating the files, and it works for me quite well.

    Just my 2 cents.

I went through the thread and didn't notice a supplier that makes pricing as easy and low as this one (I used 2 units 6"x6" as sample).

    http://www.pcbwing.com

Most likely where I will order my boards.

Hi Robert, Don't forget to ask for your $5 discount for posting their link BTW I will likely use them as well, THNX for the link.

For serious low quantity projects but also for high volumes too, Eurocircuits is highly recommended.

Top quality, speed and accepts even directly eagle brd files.
