    Angry Dc SSR circuit problem

Hi everyone, I have a challenge (4 me) at which after many many attempts and killed a couple SSR. Attached is my circuit. The first part of the ssr works as it has a led indicator built in. (HFS40 05D-50D2T-L(555)). The IC1 pic 16f88 outputs on portb.0 to the SSR
But cant get it to control the coil on a solenoid. I get no voltage on the output pins of the SSR.

The circuit is to open and close FESTO pnumatic cylinder, confirm the cylinder is in position via FESTO reed switch.

PLEASE can someone point me in the right direction

    Thanks in advance

    Hi, Cooter

Looks an industrial project, no ???

BUT ... do you REALLY think someone will understand what is happening here ???

just provide us a nice scheme ... WITH you SSR, if possible !

BTW ... you should have a closer look at your SSR Datasheet ... but, it's just an idea ...

Why insist on using 32 Bits when you're not even able to deal with the first 8 ones ??? ehhhhhh ...

IF there is the word "Problem" in your question ...
    certainly the answer is " RTFM " or " RTFDataSheet " !!!

Have you tested the SSR output with an LED?

What are the specs of the solenoid? Flyback inplace?

Yep, that is why I ask about the LED to see if cooter understands the workings.

    Hey Cooter

You need to use the output of the SSR as a switch in series with your load. You seem to have connected it across your 12 V supply. That is killing your SSR.
