Post 2 PICs driven by one Crystal problem

    Hi,
I'm hoping some can help with the following:-
I have a PCB that has two PICs on it. A 16F84A which has a 20Mhz steel case crystal and coupled to gnd via two 15pf caps. The CLKOUT for this PIC feeds into the CLKIN of a 16F876. The 16F84A program runs fine but the 16F876 does not. I have read the data sheets on these devices and believe that this should work. Has any one out there got any ideas? The CLKOUT of th 16F876 is not connected to anything. Regards Ivan

Do you have the F84 set to HS and the 876 set for EC osc configurations?
