I finally got a Creality Ender 3 S1 Plus on Amazon.ca for $689 back in March 2023 (currently $552 from Creality):

- Sprite Direct Drive Extruder,
- Auto Bed Leveling, (more like auto-compensating, you have to manually twist the wheels),
- CR Touch controller,
- Upgraded Dual Z Axis,
- Silent Board,
- Heated bed,
- PC sprint steel magnetic build plate,
- Printing Size 300x300x300mm

It doesn't have multiple colours, but I had to start somewhere.

It has a flexible magnetic build plate. I really like this feature.

I've since had 1 problem during the year: motherboard and controller board - probably from a lightening strike. Both replaced and it's now working fine.

I've only done PLA so far, but plan on trying ABS as soon as I move to a new area with venting to outside.

Speed, nothing to get excited about.
Precision, good enough for me so far.
Part removal, the spring steel plate seems to have a lot less problems when removing the finished piece than other bases.

Overall, I'm happy with it, 7 / 10.

FILAMENT: I've only bought Amazon and haven't had any problems. I don't use a dryer, and my current filment just sits installed on the printer. At most, I wrap opened filament rolls in a freezer ziplock bag.

TIP: make sure to keep the loose filament firmly anchored into the roll when removed from the printer. You will not be happy if the filament coils start loosening over each other. Just google tangled PLA filament roll.
