Default Newb here! Need some advice.

I have never touched Pic basic before, but it looks like something I could get into.

The reason I found it is because I am looking for a way to turn on a motor for a certain period of time and then have it turn on. then the next time I turn it on I want it to do the same thing but in reverse.

Am I in the right place?

Yes you are in the right place, and yes PICBasic will do the job. Buy the product, read the manual, build your project.

You can download the PBPro manual from melabs.com. Just reading through the commands should give you an idea of how to get started. If your budget can stand it, some of the meLabs bundles are very helpful in getting going.

Based on the description of your project above, it would be a great starter project.
