I've a circuit that pulls about 25mA quiescently & - but it's battery powered (PP3 @9V, 550maH). I'd quite like to drop a PIC in there (something like a 12f683), but just wondering if the wins I can get from the PIC shutting down aspects of the circuit when they're not needed, will be much of a win over the PIC's current draw.

Has anyone had a dabble in this area....ie about how much of a current draw a small PIC pulls? (I realise it's heavily dependent onsupply voltage & Oscillator clock), but would be interested to hear others' comments.
