Default newbee also wants to know about cmcon=7

I just started with PICbasic pro and trying to put the cmcon=7 but when I compile it, an error says (undefined symbol cmcon). I'm using the 16f877a chip.

Are you sure you have selected the 16F877A and not the 16F877

THE ONLY CHOICES I HAVE IS THE 16F877 IN MICROCODE STUDIO. I HAVE HAD THE PROGRAM FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS NOW. IT MIGHT BE OUT DATED BECAUSE IT DOES NOT LIST THE 877A. HOW WOULD i UPDATE?

If it was new four years ago it should have it.

    Go here for update info

PBP 2.42 started support for the 877A.

You can download the free version of MCS here
    http://www.melabs.com/resources/win_ide.htm
but I am not sure if it works with the old versions of PBP, it should.
If you still have you receipt for PBP or remember the company you purchased it from and they still have records from that far back, the upgrade is only $25.00 US.

The new version of PBP has come a long way from 2.43. Would be worth the upgrade.

Why are you screaming so loud here ?????

The 877a has options and registers not know by the 877 (without a).
So, switch to the right compiler-option or read the datasheet so declare the register on your own.
