    Morse Code Bot

    Hi Guys :)

Hereís a video which shows the crux of a project to use a custom pic controlled TENS unit to contract my muscles
through the use of electrodes, to make my hand key some predefined,...
  4. Re: Please help, any ideas to improve Scrolling Text MAX7219

All of that checking for each character and definitions should all be one single lookup table.
That code would vary in speed depending on the character being printed.

    Anyways.. here goes nothing.

I don’t suppose these have any way to read anything raw from any other devices such as remotes?

    Si4703 FM Radio DDS Hack

    Hi :)
This is my most recent 16F628A controller code for Silicon Labs Si4703 FM radio chip.
This chip gets itís watch crystal disconnected, and itís clock input (RCLK) taken from the 16F628A via a...

    Re: I2CREAD/WRITE Clarification

To save program memory. Not in the i2c routines PBP puts a the start of the program, but for the calls to them.

I2CREAD/WRITE puts the same chunk of code to send the control byte which can be...

    Re: I2CREAD/WRITE Clarification

Maybe sending the array as a string would work for a byte array, but for a word array Iíd expect it to shuffle all high and low bytes.
It could be possible to shuffle them everywhere else in code to...

    Re: I2CREAD/WRITE Clarification

Wouldn’t it only look like a seperate read because the control code is included each time?
Maybe there’s a big list of RAM locations in it’s asm that could be looped.

    I2CREAD/WRITE Clarification

    Hi :)
Iím having some trouble interpreting the manual for these two commands.
Iíve always fully populated the command arguments when using it, and incremented the address until maximum.

    For...

    Re: Si4702 FM Radio chip

Maybe it would be a little concerning that this is friendlier than DT’s code, but the current version may not be.

    Re: Si4702 FM Radio chip

Maybe you can delete this whole thread, and I’ll start again in “Code Examples”.

I’ve saved DT’s original code posted by pedja, and will also repost that (and credit pedja for holding onto it).

    LCDOUT Replacement

    Hi :)
This code can replace the code inserted by PBP whenever you use the LCDOUT command.
The reasons to do so are for probably speed and memory savings.
Also, since LCDOUT is meaningless in any...

Re: ANNEX ESP8266 basic announcement and invitation

It was my plan to use them natively one day, but if something gets it going easy, then all good.
They are a fast processor. I assume this is an interpreter, but it was my plan to have another chip...

    EDIT,,, thx richard.

Maybe I joined the wrong forum since this is “Not the same as ESP8266 BASIC”.

    This:

    8904

Is this the right size PROM that Richard was talking about?
I could give this a shot as early as tomorrow.

Looks to be 1024k, at least bigger than Richard’s original one.

    Re: Si4702 FM Radio chip

Here’s a dual band radio (FM Broadcast 87.5-108.1 MHz & Amateur VHF 144-148 MHz).
I slimmed it down to dual band to fit graphic signal strength & volume, optional squelch, and accurate VHF freq...

Re: ANNEX ESP8266 basic announcement and invitation

This sounds like a serial connection over USB, for which, USB wouldn’t be required if you have a serial port.
I’m asking because I don’t know anything about the module I have, but it has no USB...

Interesting. I’ve had one of those modules sitting in a drawer for a couple of years.

I assume the USB connection to initially get code onto the device is USB to serial?
    because a lot of these...
  23. Re: Can I change LCD enable bit to port A instead of Port B ?

I literally did it yesterday. If porta bit 4 is open collector for the device, it will need a pullup resistor.

    Re: Si4702 FM Radio chip

I’ve already received a VHF (FM) repeater on 146.9 MHz, but I suspect the radio gets more deaf out of band.
I don’t receive it well in my location on a proper dedicated dual band handheld.

    The 6m...

    Re: Si4702 FM Radio chip

Itís now an aviation band receiver, and potentially later, a VHF amateur band receiver.
The 16F628A has PWM, so with some attenuation of the clock signal, I replaced the 32.768 clock crystal in the...
