The translation for the data sheet is a little difficult to follow, it would be nice if there was a better explanation.
Hmm??
Cleaning the garage and I found two Microchip boxes one with a Picstart 16B and the other with a Pictart 16C. Other than keeping the power supply and cables are these still of use anymore?...

I have not done anything with this yet. Someone has done some PIC work here: http://embedded-lab.com/blog/?p=4333. The download includes a hex file for a 16F628. At least you can test the units...
SHT11 is a 2 wire device, the DHT11 & DGT22 are one wire, not to be confused with Dallas 1-wire.
Here is a link to the data sheet. The sample code looks like 8051 code, never studied that....
I found these temperature/humidity devices on eBay and Sparkfun;DHT 11 & DHT 22. Did a search on this forum and did not see any postings. Was wondering if anyone has been working with them?? I did a...
FYI, ordered mine from Mouser on 10/09, they shipped 10/11, I got it 10/14. I just checked and they have 49 in stock.
My watch showed up Friday, took it out of the box, synced it to PC and that is how far I got. Too many honey-do's over the weekend, not enough play time. Looks good so far.
Perfect !! That is what I was looking for:)
Just figured it happened to others but my HD crashed. I was able to recover most of my PicBasicPro files but a few are still corruct. Does anyone have the original instructions "dx-lcd.pdf," mine...
Note sure if this is the location, but I have PICStart-16B1 & 16C that I would like to donate to a good cause. Yes, I am dating myself, these are older but maybe there is a group out there that could...
You may wish to consider the VDIP made by Vinculum. Several configurations. Lots of posts on this forum and Google as well.
Here is a link to a kit that may help:...
For what it is worth, the VNC1L chip works great for data logging to a USB drive. Serin2, Serout2, monitor the CTS and that is it.
Besides logging, I have also written text in MS word, saved it...
Looks OK. I have lots of DS1820's so I hoping to do it myself

Interesting!!
I may need a little coaching. My goal is to print up a set of instructions, save them as a text file (formatted for screen width), convert to hex then burn to an EEPROM. Calls...

Yes I use the embedded strings as part of my Logo Display. Works great BTW.
I also tried the custom approach and built a HyperTerm interface to an 24LC128 EEPROM, but the problem is viewing...
I know this an old post, but could you elaborate a little more on how one would store strings in an external EEPROM and retrieve them. I can see where this might come in handy when building menus....

A quick Google search and there does not appear to be a US distributer for M Seal. However, I did find “Mighty Putty” and “Plumbers Putty.” Maybe they are the same thing as M Seal.

Your are correct, we don’t need any deteriorating copper. I will think about cutting the insulation away from the fiberglass to paste my sensor. But first I found a plastic hot tub thermowell...

Thanks for the input. Where the water comes into the filter reservoir there is a cover that I can mount the Thermowell to and drop my DS1820 right in. So I really don’t need to tap into the...

That is a great link. Now I know what to ask for, thermowell. The web link sure is good reading plus lots of links to research. Guess I was not to far off when I was thinking of the test...
Was wondering what others have done to measure temperature in a liquid, the water temperature in my hot tub in my case?
Have put a DS1820 series inside a 12” of ¼ plastic tube, and capped it. But...
This was a new one on me. I was trying to work DT’s "STRINGS.PBP" code for the first time and ran across an error from MPASM, the likes of which I had never seen before.
“The Microchip assembler...

You might consider using the Allegro ACS712 in the battery leg of your system. It is a Hall Effect-Based Linear Current Sensor that is isolated from your current source. The fact that it is a...
