  1. Re: Need to drive 40 pins on variable change, is there a way to do it in elegant way?

    Directly from DS1302 data sheet page 4:

    Connections for Standard 32.768kHz Quartz Crystal. The internal oscillator is
    designed for operation with a crystal having a specified load capacitance of...

    Re: Morse Code Bot

    Brek, Talking about Morse code and it being Field Day today I thought I would add a small program that I wrote some years ago for an 10F222 to be put onto a 3 pin stereo plug and pluged into an HT...

    Re: APA102C and SK9822

    Michael, Yes they are.. the specs for each are the same. I have built some interesting projects with them. I like them much better than the SK6812 "NeoPixels" as there is no reason the data stream...

    Re: Au-full quiet out here lately...

    Michel, Lately I have used the 16F18326 for a few different lamp projects as well as a remote temperature and alarm transmitter.
    It's a nice device, 14 pins with NCO and PPS as well as CLC.

    Re: Lcdout macro problem

    I also notice that the variables "KEY_CODE VAR WORD[10]" and "REG_VAL VAR WORD" are words. If you execute the statement "REG_VAL = KEY_CODE[8] * 1000 + KEY_CODE[9] * 100 + KEY_CODE[10] * 10 +...

    Re: Low power accurate 6 month timer - suggestions?

    Bill, Here is the connector I used on my TUBSUB project for COHO fishing. I have used it to depths of 250Ft. with NO leaks. I hope this might help for your future builds.

    Re: Low power accurate 6 month timer - suggestions?

    If you use an 16F18326 like I'm using for my remote temperature sensor, and setting the WatchDog timer for the maximum of 18388608 or 256 seconds you can count to 60750 which is still a word size...
  9. Re: Getting data from user, how to store it properly? (kinda dialog interface)

    Might I suggest FM24W256 from RamTron. It is an EEPROM with NO write delay and 151 year data retention. I use them on quite a few of my products and have had NO failures at all. They also support...

    seconds = received data // 60

  16. Re: PIC 18F2431 PORTB.6 and 7 - strange behavior on restart after a few hours "rest"

    Roger, I have never placed any capacitor on the reset pin as long as I have been designing circuits with PIC processors. (about 20 years or so) Also I usually use a 10K resistor for the RESET pin...
  17. Re: PIC 18F2431 PORTB.6 and 7 - strange behavior on restart after a few hours "rest"

    If you have access to an oscilloscope, place the probe on the power line to your board and capture the rise time for the supply. I notice that from the board picture there is only 1 capacitor...

    Re: 7-Seg display not counting

    Don't keep modifing W1. Only use W1 as an entry value. Do something similar to:

    D1 = W1
    B0 = D1 / 100 ' Find number of hundreds
    D1 = D1 // 100 ' Remove hundreds from W1

    Gosub bin2seg '...

    Re: Configuration bits

    change this line :
    __config _CONFIG2, _PLLEN_OFF & _LVP_OFF & _WRT_OFF

    to:
    __config _CONFIG2, _PLLEN_ON & _LVP_OFF & _WRT_OFF

    and that should do it to run @ 32 Mhz.
  25. Re: Finding the MCU I need on MICROCHIP's website

    I might suggest an 18F26K22. Can be operated @ 64 Mhz. with 3 full ports A,B,C.
