  1. Re: Need to drive 40 pins on variable change, is there a way to do it in elegant way?

    And here is another addition from me as an attention:

    I had DS1302 and an IR transmitter on the same board.

    PWM module was pushing 38Khz signal to IR LED.

    It turned out that the clock was...

    Re: 18F45K40 Can't set PORTD.1

    Thank you Ioannis. I hope to see you in Istanbul one day. Unlimited true Turkish sish kebap from me.

    I shipped the board out. Now I do not have a board with this chip now.
    And this chip is...
  3. Re: Need to drive 40 pins on variable change, is there a way to do it in elegant way?

    Since it is a new design, why not use DS1307?

    You can have LEDs for days.
    Mon, TUE, WED,...

    You can also have a 1-second signal output directly from DS1307.

    just an idea.

    Re: 18F45K40 Can't set PORTD.1

    Ladies (if any) and gentleman, I finally found the issue but still not sure how it is mixed up. Anyway issue solved.

    RD1PPS = 0 ' pin is LATxy

    It must be getting mixed in somewhere....

    Re: 18F45K40 Can't set PORTD.1

    The code below, does not turn on PORTD.1.
    But, when I compile it with "other compiler" which has "delayms" command instead of "pause", it works as expected.
    The settings for both compilers are...

    Re: 18F45K40 Can't set PORTD.1

    I agree with all you said. You are right.

    But after I tried everything to my best knowledge, I finally posted the issue here. Sorry for less information posted.

    I think it may not be ethical to...

    Re: MQ 135 sensor

    I would check Github page for it; look for Arduino code examples to see how they translate "an analog reading to a parts-per-million equivalent".

    Re: 18F45K40 Can't set PORTD.1

    Thank you Henrik for the return.
    The code works with PBP and the PIC runs for sure; come on :).
    I can get everything from what the code does. I send data, receive data, set 7-segment leds etc..., ...

    18F45K40 Can't set PORTD.1

    For 18F45K40, I can not set PORTD.1

    LATD.1 = 1 does not work.
    PORTD.1 = 1 does not work.
    HIGH PORTD.1 does not work.
    HIGH LATD.1 does not work.
    ASM does not work.

    But if I use another...

    For example;

    I use 18F67K40.

    It has 5 EUSART modules.

    Thus, I would like to see HSEROUT5 or HSERIN5.

    HSEROUT3 / HSERIN3....

    Hserout3, hserout4, ...

    What might be the reason or the reasons for PBP developers not to write Hser commands for 3,4,5 ?

    Hserout3,Hserout4,Hserout5 ?
    or Hserinx ?
  12. Re: with the pic16f628a off, a voltage on an1 comes out from main voltage pin, why?

    There are other ways to get batt low signal with 628A.

    You can have a diode for Vref, around 0.4-0.6V; feed this vref into PIC's comparator. 1N4148 is perfect for this. Have 56K resistor from...
  13. Re: with the pic16f628a off, a voltage on an1 comes out from main voltage pin, why?

    There is a PCH mosfet; Diodes DMP3098L.

    If you use this one instead of BC327, then you may use 100K resistor instead of 10K.
    Thus, current drawing gets super low.
    But, first, just test the idea...
  14. Re: with the pic16f628a off, a voltage on an1 comes out from main voltage pin, why?

    Here you have two methods.

    Method - 2 may not work correctly; it is something like "egg from chicken or chicken from egg? which one is first" issue.

    But you get the idea here.

    Method-1: When...
  15. Re: 1-wire bus network driver modification, OWIN/OWOUT pbppic18.lib

    Ok, problem solved.
    After Richard's post about ST above, I realized that 18F27K42 has INLV register for each port; which makes the pin either ST or TTL.

    It has to be cleared for the pin to make...
  16. Re: with the pic16f628a off, a voltage on an1 comes out from main voltage pin, why?

    You may have PNP transistor between ANpin and battery + pin.
    When there is no power, PNP transistor blocks the way. When the power is ON, battery voltage gets through PNP transistor.

    But, you...

  18. Re: 1-wire bus network driver modification, OWIN/OWOUT pbppic18.lib

    Thanks for the input, Richard.

    I saw this slewrate issue in some other platforms and I played with it in the code but had no change.

    Just to repeat the issue again;

  19. Re: 1-wire bus network driver modification, OWIN/OWOUT pbppic18.lib

    Norbert,

    Thank you for the response.
    I have tried several things so far but I will try your suggestions.
    For the clock speed, I tried both 16Mhz and 64Mhz. 16Mhz seems to perform better in terms...
  20. Re: 1-wire bus network driver modification, OWIN/OWOUT pbppic18.lib

    Hi Norbert,

    So are you using Owout and Owin in separate I/O pins?
    One for pushing the line, another for reading the response?

    I am using 120 sensors at a single line, DS18B20u. Network...

  22. Re: Low power accurate 6 month timer - suggestions?

    I have Option 1 and Option 2.

    If the accuracy was not critical, Option 1 could work;
    Still, it may provide some accuracy but requires confirmation & tests.

    Option 1:

  23. Re: Low power accurate 6 month timer - suggestions?

    My first question:

    How accurate is "accuracy" ?

    For example, for 180 days of target, is +/- 20 days acceptable?

  25. Re: DC Motor constant speed controller, is Picbasic fast enough?

    if you use pulsein, it will break your main program while executing.
    But, if you use a hardware counter in the background, you can do other things simultaneously in the foreground (in your main...
