    Re: 10-Bit PWM using PIC16F1509

Well, after reading the Steering on 16F887 I think it is not possible to have 4 different PWM signals at the same time on a chip that lacks more channels.

The 887 has 2 channels, so 2 different...

    Re: 10-Bit PWM using PIC16F1509

Hi Richard. Thanks for posting this. I was not aware this was possible.

But, doesn't this have glitches in the signal when steering is changing channel?

Have to try this in real hardware.

Re: Ability to pay per MCU License.

Maybe this is a nice idea but I do not think it will happen.

Maybe the decline interest for PBP, maybe the resources to do that or other reasons...

    It just won't.

    Re: 10-Bit PWM using PIC16F1509

Mike, that means a PIC should have different CCPxCON registers. As many as the different channels, so the user can define the duty of each independently.

For example, the 16F887 has two and...

Re: Nextion LCDs... How to comunicate ???

Mike's tutorial on Nuts n Volts is good starting point.

Also the tutorials on YouTube are very helpful. There are many that take you step by step.

Re: Better code check before compile?

Agreed. This is easy to check, but above we stated other cases that are difficult to check.

So a sub-without-return check in whole is not easy to implement. I suppose... Maybe Charles knows better...

Re: Better code check before compile?

If you mean my example, OK, it is a not efficient one but I was trying to show that you can have many Returns from the same sub.

Sure it can be made more compact or efficient, but still. Compiler...

Or the reverse. Have one entry and multiple exits:

Re: Better code check before compile?

Added to the above, no one can guarantee you that the software will always run, even with faults in it. MCU's can stop anytime and hardware must protect itself in that case.

    Now, regarding Subs,...

    Re: IOC on the 27k40

Well, this is a bit subjective matter. Every C compiler is not the same, also has levels of optimizations, and even coding style can affect the resulting hex code size.

In any case here and then,...

    Re: IOC on the 27k40

I agree with you although I feel that all this (MPLABX IDE, C etc) is a steep curve. Time keeps me away from this and I guess for others too. Hobby is another thing and a hobbyist may have all the...

    Re: IOC on the 27k40

    Very nice!

Recently I was testing the 16F19176 chip. It has almost all of what you referred except NCO and is also supported by PBP.

I tried many times to take the leap to C but things stopped...

    Re: IOC on the 27k40

Well, what is it on that chip that is special?

You are brave enough to tame that beast called MPLABX!

Re: Dual instance with MPLAB 8 ?

Oh, I see. The MPLAB sees the first workspace so gives a violation error message.

By your suggestion, you've already defined a new workspace, so MPLAB is happy!

    Good one,

Re: Dual instance with MPLAB 8 ?

No, you cannot because of share violation errors. Also MPLAB gives a warning that this is not recommended.

I think only the recent post. Lester had to recover the forum from a backup up to early November if I am not mistaken.

If you think that all 2019 post are lost please report.
