    Re: Touch switch ON/OFF

Possibly stupid question but why not have one touch switch, first press turns on, next turns off ... ad nauseam.
  2. Re: Confirm 18f47k40 MSSP setting and allocation using PSS

FWIW there's a really good tool for setting PPS on GCB. Google for PPS Tool for GCB, it really does take the agro out of PPS.

    Re: Snap programmer

Good advice, but having got it working with IPE why bother with MPLabx? From memory theres a CLI (or similar) within IPE to allow programming from PicBasic IDE (ala PK2 et al)

Re: Pickit 3 failed to program

Most "modern" PIC devices allow MCLR to be turned off by setting the appropriate bit in config fuses. This pis should be used as an absolute last resort as loads will potentially upset ICSP.

Re: Pickit 3 failed to program

@michael PicKit3 GUI version http:// http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/PICkit3%20Programmer%20Application%20v3.10.zip , google PK3CMD.EXE for the command line version. Even better buy...

Re: Pickit 3 failed to program

You don't need to use MPLabx/IPE for 16F88, you can use Pickit3.exe or CLI or even a PicKit2. Make sure you use the download option in the tools menu.

If you can use something else instead of...

Re: Pickit 3 failed to program

IIRC the PicKit3 stand alone GUI program and the command line app PK3CMD.EXE are limited to older devices. If you want to program the latest devices you need to soil your self with IPE or look at...
  8. Re: Need to drive 4 rgb leds, but have only 1 pin available...

Out of the box. A small PIC device running the 4 LEDs and reading a 2 bit serial pattern with a longish pause to sync.

    Re: Output directly to input?

@Peter I was just about to ask why do that and you answered.

@Micheal If pins are on the same Port, write to the whole TRIS in one go ie. don't set up individual pins as output/input. BTW pins...

Re: MIDI Descriptor for USB communication

Don't have time (code for to lazy) to read whole thread but did you already see this http://www.picbasic.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=23638

Re: MIDI Descriptor for USB communication

I only gave Pickit2 as an example (it happened to be connected). I appreciate that you don't want to reinvent the wheel.

    Found this on google http://portmedia.sourceforge.net/

    Probably...

Re: MIDI Descriptor for USB communication

I'd start with a PBP programmed USB device, generate the descriptor for it, compare the original descriptor with the generated one then extrapolate to your app.

Re: MIDI Descriptor for USB communication

You apparently have or have access to a commercial MIDI-to-USB interface. Several USB monitor will generate a descriptor of a connected device (albeit not in exactly PBP format). I have several...

    Re: Real Ice and PBP

@Dave Hi, where did you get that list of supported devices from? There a couple of updated (by non-Microchip) version of PK2DeviceFile.dat around but none that I know of as complete.

    Your list...
  16. Re: Serial data sent to 16F627A being read incorrectly by PIC?

The difference between 2389 and 2400 would not seem a big deal, it only 0.5% (if my maths right, which is unlikely)
  17. Re: Serial data sent to 16F627A being read incorrectly by PIC?

Take the PC out of the loop you're just introducing more variables, your LA is all you need.

A couple of things to check, is the Fosc (the clock running the PIC, not necesarily the crystal) you...
  18. Re: Most memory saving way for comparing 98 preset values with ADC input?

Try coding it as a huge SELECT statement, you might be surprised how little memory it uses.
  19. Re: Normal i/o required on portc , pin6, 7 18f27k40

FWIW Microchip have changed the format of device/siliocon rev for 10F2xK40/42, so watch out for that. These devices are quite new so the errata may not be complete, I see no downside in setting up...

Re: After update serial programmer won't open

Not that it helps much but the configs you see are presumably the Default/Unprogrammed Value listed in the datasheet.

Re: After update serial programmer won't open

Unless you're dealing with quantity production I wonder if an internal RTC is worth the bother, you still have to add a crystal and a battery. You can buy Dallas 3231 module for peanuts on eBay.

    Re: Pic 18F26K40

Of all the oddities on microchips site one of the more annoying is that seach which only seems to work if you put PIC (like PIC18F26K22), maybe it's just my browser/VPN combo.

    Re: CONFIG issues with 18F26K22

@Mike. No, just stand alone PK2cmd.exe and Pickit2v2.exe.

For what it's worth the config I use (in Proton but easily transposed)

    ' internal clock 16MHz with 4xPLL = 64MHz

    Re: CONFIG issues with 18F26K22

FWIW if you want to use your Pickit2, heres a modified PK2DeviceFile which can programme 18F26K22 and a couple of simple apps for manipulating the dat file.
