    the int_enable macro is pretty simple, if the timer is stopped i can't see why it would fail

    the modified dt ints is highly unlikely to be the issue, if it was the isr would never work.
    its far more likely your startup code is failing to setup all necessary conditions for the isr to run.

    not the most elegant solution modifying dt ints like that, i'm sure dt would have found a way to identify that chip for a conditional compile to keep things nice

    try adding this interrupt definition to the dt_ints-14.bas at the top of the definitions

    #define T1_197_INT PIR4,TMR1IF, PIE4,TMR1IE ;-- TMR1 - 16f19197 *


    then rename your interrupt...

    I just tried it in pbp using pbp dt ints , its much better than i thought it would be.
    with few tweaks its a match if not a little better
    since pbp doesn't do signed int math not sure how it will...

    i agree but to match this you need asm isr in pbp, dt ints would slow it bigtime

    using a different display may help, but your snippets tell nothing at all about timing.

    using my code and a frame buffer i can refresh an entire nokia lcd in less time than a 1602 lcd takes to...

    its one of the limitations of async comms that needs to be managed.
    listening at irregular times for signals that occur at random intervals can lead to all sorts of issues.
