Thank you!
I used
T1CON.0 = 0 'disable timer 1
CCP1CON=0 ' disable capture compare module which works with timer 1
and that solved my problem completely!

After reading another thread I added
LOW PORTC.0
just before the loop and this seemed to solve my problem!
Why would that be?
Isn't TRISC %11111000 supposed to set PORTC.0 as an output?
I forgot to say:
The noise on PORTC.0 is present during the off pulse
Hi All
I am using a PIC16F73 and I am trying to pulse PORTC.0, PORTC.1 and PORTC.2
I have set these ports as outputs using TRISC = %11111000
However, when I measure the signal on the pins, the...

Thank you for the advice!

I have not measured it, but it is very little current.
I am not using the brown out detection.

Thank you for the graph!
I will be using the ignition key switch to activate the circuit.
My circuit will be driving a load of up to 30A via a mosfet.
In this case, can/should I still...

Thank you for the explanation!

Wow! Thank you for a very comprehensive power supply design!
Can/should I still add the 4700uf to your circuit as well, as suggested by Dave and Skimask,
or does your circuit already...
Dave
Thank you for the suggestion.
Is the purpose of the 4700uf on the 5 volt side to smooth out voltage spikes?
In another thread the attached schematic was suggested to monitor voltage of a car battery.
Am I right in saying that, If I am not monitoring the voltage but merely wants to run my pic from the...
Hi All
I would like to connect my pic16f73 to my car battery and run the pic while driving.
I was thinking of using the attached voltage regulator, but I was told that the power in a car is very...

Everything is working now!!
Trying to track the reason for the continuous reset I display the values for
Power-on-reset (POR), Brown-out reset (BOR) , stack full reset (STKFUL) and stack underflow reset (STKUNF) bits, but all...

I did what you suggested and using the following setting for the PIC 18F2320, my pbp program compiles!
@ __CONFIG _CONFIG1H, _HSPLL_OSC_1H
However, now my...

Thank you for your reply.
I have searched this forum and looked at the other threads in this regard before I posted my question, and the code I am using is the code suggested by Mel?

I'm using MPASM v5.03
Any help is appreciated!
I have a PIC18F2320 and PIC18F242 and would like to run either one @ 40MHz with 4 x pll using a 10MHz crystal.
I cannot get my PBP program to compile.
I am using:

Hi Everyone
Thank you for EXCELLENT advice! :)
Hi Everyone
Thank you all for the excellent advice!! :)

How should I modify Bob's circuit CarVoltage.jpg if I should not use a Zener?
Bob
I just noticed that circuit CarVoltage.jpg specifies 10nf caps while you previously said I should use a 10uf cap? Which one is it?
Thank you again.

Thank you all for the advice. I really appreciate it! :)

Thanks for the advice! Could you be specific with regard to where the capacitor must be placed as well as the inductors. If possible, inductance values would be appreciated. (I'm rather new to...

Thanks for the advice! Could you be specific with regard to where the 5V zenere diode must be placed. (I'm rather new to electronics!)
THANKS!
