  1. Re: varable index buffer setup unsing a varable

i got it a bit mixed up RAM_END is the last physical byte for chip
so you need to read lst file to see where allocated mem finishes.
    pic18's only of course
    so ...
    buff max size = RAM_END...
  2. Re: Replacing array member on the fly (big LCD characters idea)

thanks for the effort, but i cannot get that site to work ,seems you need to sign up and login to get the buttons to work
    its not for me.
  3. Re: varable index buffer setup unsing a varable

this may be a possibility i have not got around t trying it, it may need asm support
i kind of forget the vagaries of pbp labels
asm var RAM_END is set to last byte allocated by pbp
    Ram past...
  4. Re: Replacing array member on the fly (big LCD characters idea)

might i ask where from , i cannot find anyone in Australia that stocks them , most tell me they are end of product life
or only have units with different chipset
    ebay has no hits
    crystalfontz...
  5. Re: Replacing array member on the fly (big LCD characters idea)

the font you depict has 22 "shapes" that i can see, the display can hold only eight user defined [cga ram] shapes at any one time

    try to show this

    8966
  6. Re: Replacing array member on the fly (big LCD characters idea)

But can it show the time or date or anything else but the one digit ?

if you really want big chr's on that size display get a 122x32 graphical job
  7. Re: Warning 202 Argument out of range. Least significant bits used

the problem is not the macro, you are attempting to hserout a constant that is too big for it to swallow.
somewhere in those 6200 lines of code is an attempt to hserout an constant type item who's...

    Re: INA219 conversion time

    that is the trigger
in continuous mode the end of conversion triggers the next conversion
any other mode (single conversion) waits for user to retrigger it

    Re: INA219 conversion time

Does that mean you take a new "reading" every 150 ms ?

in free run mode yes ,the "read" you get is the latest available

in free run i don't see it has any useful function

    set the config...

    Re: INA219 conversion time

detail is scant, lets start with
how often are these corrections applied and feedback samples taken ?
why are you thinking the free running, continuously available 128 sample averaged results are...

    Re: INA219 conversion time

you have set the device to continuous conversion mode , the conversion process did not begin when you set "SPARE_PIN and read the bus voltage"
you don't know when it started. i don't believe you are...
  12. Re: How is this data being formed from the values given?

there's few things the arduino community have not hacked into if its at all possible
a google search for "arduino & 'my secret unmentionable device' " might yield some results

Re: Any elegant way of text string handling?

there are many ways that have be discussed on this forum over the years

try a forum search "embedded string" or "null terminated"
  14. Re: Read state of specific bit (i.ex. of a PORT)

    yes absolutely
result equals the low nibble of portb as read, the high nibble is masked off
  15. Re: Read state of specific bit (i.ex. of a PORT)

    if key active high

    WHILE PORTB >15 : WEND

    or

    WHILE (PORTB&$f0) : WEND

    or if active low

    Re: Supress "MSG" in compile

mpasm has three errorlevels 0,1,2 numbered error messages can be supressed -306 -302 etc
the user messages seem difficult to suppress and the (num) is line number so of no use in suppression

    Re: BME280 sensor.

seems possible , the fact that the bmp ver is less "hot" tallies with its lower power use [hum sensor nearly doubles the consumption]

    Re: BME280 sensor.

    henrik
    i made a little change

    used this style
    IF P2.15 = 1 THEN
    p2.highWORD = 65535
    ENDIF

for all the casts to long , it saves a worthwhile bit of code space
