Hello,
I have an interesting project and I wonder if anybody would like to provide some input on it.
First, the problem and what I "think" I need to do to solve it:
I have a Logitech G15...
Reading the datasheet is always a great start.
Then, do a search on this forum for CAN bus related posts.
These guys ONLY use PICs in their devices and their equipment is responsible for protecting lives every day.

P.S.
By the way, the company I work...
Hello,
I know that this post is a little late (a few months after-the-fact actually), but I’m sorry, Selbstdual is mentally challenged (I’d use the term “retard”, but I’m trying to be politically...
Uh. You've picked a strange thread to place your post on, and an even stranger choice of member. I don't use PBP anymore.
However, I'm sure that there are some members here who oculd help.

Hi Mister E,
Are you talking about Swordfish?
If so, it does look cool.
Unfortunately, I've begun to realize that, as a rule, virtually no one in industry takes Basic languages seriously -...
They said the same thing about planes in the early days of flight. Sometimes progress takes a while to catch on.
;)
Hi,
Depending on the volume of sales you expect, it may be worth the expense of switching to a different compiler for this project.
I’ve heard that the Hitech PIC C-compiler is very good at...
Hello again,
I've done a little more digging on the web and came up with the following:

Hi,
My understanding is that if you set the code "protect" bit then the bootloader will not be able to write to program memory.
Seems logical to me but I could be wrong.
Regards,
Hi,
A bootloader is not much good if code protection is enabled.
So, chances are, this shouldn't be a problem.
I've tried Brian's method with success.
Cheers!
Hi,
I'll bet hardly anyone in this forum does this when working at their bench (including me), but you should really use a ground strap when working with PICs. This is especially important in the...
Hi,
I agree with Mr. E.
Don't look for shortcuts to avoid reading the datasheet.
Reading the datasheet "is" the shortcut.
Trust me on this.
Regards,
Hi,
OK, I understand now.
Sorry about that.
Yeah, as far as I know you can use PAUSEUS 24, PAUSEUS 25, PAUSEUS 26, etc... with accuracy.
It's just that you can't go any lower than 24us.
...
Hello again,
Sorry, I haven't got my facts straight.
It looks like 24us is the minimum delay for PAUSEUS, whether you're using a variable or not. Please see the attached table for a list of...
Hi,
I'm not sure I understand the question, but here goes...
Are you asking what the minimum value for PAUSEUS can be for a given crystal?
If so, this is what I understand:
If you load...
Hi,
Yeah, power consumption is going to be higher, but that's only a problem if you're application is battery powered. There may be some EMC issues too, but I doubt it. 20MHz is still a pretty low...
Agreed.
It was petty, and I for one apologize for contributing to it.
Regards,
Hey Gang,
By the way, this post was the result of a private email I received where, someone sent me a link to this thread, and basically told me that the new PBP was just around the corner. I'd...
Wow!
Someone's cranky.
You must have missed your nap today.
By the way, if I do "complain" (as you call it) on the PDS forum, it's because I actually have a say in the development of an...
"Picsnaut"? Is that the best you could come up with? I mean, your 47. Surely can come up with a better cheap shot than that. At least spell it "Picsnot".
:)
As for my posts, most of my posts...
bbarney,
I'm sorry, but you're not allowed to have an opinion until you've posted on this forum at least 50 times.
:)
Well, first of all Steve, in answer to your question (which kind of sounds like my 13 year old is asking it), I actually come in here to help people, and rarely to "start" a conversation about PDS...
Um, that made me chuckle.
:)
