    Re: Sharing my enthusiasm too!

It's a DIY project and the Arduino Mini Pro is easier for end users to handle. WiFi & Bluetooth are optional and function only as wireless to serial interfaces. It's actually two projects that can...

    Re: Sharing my enthusiasm too!

At this point it looks like Erel is planning to support it so I'm waiting to see where that goes. I have a project that involves an Arduino Mini Pro plus ESP plus HC-05 Bluetooth and it now looks...

    Re: Sharing my enthusiasm too!

There's a new contender. Basic4Arduino is a free package that appears to also be adding support for the ESP8266.

    Re: Sharing my enthusiasm too!

    Anand,

You should have followed up on ZBasic for ESP8266. It's compiler so it's better suited for the limited memory of the ESP8266-01. Most of the ~250 commands for the standard version (Atmel...

    Re: ESP8266-01 sharing my enthusiasm

It varies with modules and programming languages. For the ESP8266 ESP-01 used in the above project there is a handy flasher that supports the NodeMCU auto-reset method supported by ARduino, ZBasic...

    Re: BASIC is NOT dead!!

While programmable with LUA, Arduino, ZBasic, ESP8266Basic and more, one drawback of the ESP8266, to quote email from Don Kinzer who created ZBasic, is...

    Re: BASIC is NOT dead!!

ESPBasic does appear simple but I would prefer to know more about what's going on behind the curtain. The interpreter seems to be doing a great deal that is hidden and is undocumented. From the...

    Re: BASIC is NOT dead!!

I haven't explored ESPBasic in depth but do know of a more powerful Basic for use with the ESP8266 and with Atmel chips including those used by Arduinos.

Re: CHEAP wifi modules, at last!

These are available from Amazon (some via Prime with free shipping) for about $8. Now, to see if I can talk some dialect of Basic to them.

Re: Serin Serout possible wiring distance

That doesn't necessarily mean that RX & TX are at 3.3V. The purpose of chips like the MAX232 is to boost the supply voltage to RS232 levels which can be +/-15V.

However, since the ARF is an...

Re: Serin Serout possible wiring distance

Unfortunately, Ciseco has no downloadable documentation, as yet. However, the link you supplied does say it is UART RS232 so you really need to know whether it is outputting RS232 voltage levels...

  15. Re: Long desired operation - PIC + Wifi. Help please

You might look at Roving Network's devices. Microchip bought them about 8-9 months back. Their modules are very cost effective.

Re: Multiple PICs on usart network

The URL I referenced in post #4 shows diodes in TX lines. There's no coding required. Schottky diodes would be best.

    Re: Good quality cable needed

I've never seen a requirement that the power pair be non-twisted and doubt that twisted pair would cause a problem.

I found it merely by searching Bing using 'rs485 cable power shield waterproof'...

Not all. Sprint Layout is inexpensive and has an extremely simple, intuitive interface. You can be doing complex layouts almost immediately. It's multilayer.

    However, there is no integrated...
