    Re: Output directly to input?

Yes, you can. Output pins are the ones to create trouble when connected together.

    Re: PID-filter routine (2nd try).

    Dear Henrik et al.

I am showing here how I implement PID in my 8bit process controllers. I have deliberately shown it as pseudo code for ease of understanding.
Typical C conventions are used. ...

    Re: Finding digital signals

The easiest way to identify signal activity on a line is the digital logic probe that sounds a beeper when it identifies a logic low. So, some train of beeps present on probing the line will...

Re: how to calculate reverse value with scale

    output = (reading+130)*10/16
should do it. Where I assume you are reading -130 to +30.

Thus, a reading of -130 will give output = 0
and a reading of +30 will give output = 100

    Re: MCP3201 problems

It is a long time since I used the MCP3201, so I am not current with the information. I will suggest the following change to be made

Re: Is no one monitoring the forum?

There's a lot of spam posts getting through these days. I filter many, but, due to time zone differences, many stay alive till some moderator/admin swats them

    Re: Quiet around here

Heck yes. I get here early morning to find spam. They seem to have a pattern too - post a new thread, get around 8-13 views and just vamoose. Funny.

Well, I guess folks have moved on to bigger...
  10. Re: Display values from two PIC16F series controllers with one LCD display

Assuming you connect the data lines together and the control signals together, you still need a way to arbitrate access to the common resource (the LCD). Therefore one extra handshake line from each...

    Welcome aboard seoullasers

    The chip on the ECIO28P is a 18F2455. Found here : http://www.matrixtsl.com/webshop/28-pin-pic-18-ecio.html

    Re: Nested "Select Case"s

Not the Pic basic compiler we discuss here. I've seen other compilers which do. The compiler knows which piece of code goes where in code space in the same way that the compiler knows which...

    Re: Nested "Select Case"s

A select case statement expands to a sequence of 'If This Then That' constructs when run through the compiler. Since there is no limitation using the If then, I do not anticipate a limit on the...

    Re: Wow! SPAM storm today!

most of those I have zapped have posted at least twice on the same day of registration,so, obviously something is not working as expected.

Re: wondering about slightly off new threads

I have noticed and chose to ignore since the parts could be relevant to someone. Since the post is relevant to the type of work a person would do when using a product like picbasic, it seems...
  18. Re: cannot find the reason for such a strange behavior

Not very obvious since you haven't shown the variable declarations. I would guess your DMY variable is a word type which might be giving you the problem. Or, is there some other code section that...

Re: What's happening - the forums is quiet

Yes, there's been hyper activity on the spam front recently. Daily bunches of first time posts with nothing but links. It's getting quite boring to be zapping stuff repeatedly. These spammers...

Take a look at fossil-scm.org It might be all you need even if you choose to scale up someday. I am just a happy user of fossil.
  24. Re: Sequence of statements makes code work differently. (PIC16F628A)

Without seeing your schematic, my guess would be the Read-Modify-Write issue documented in the data sheet. Try to write to PORTA as a whole rather than in bits to confirm this is the issue.
