    Yes please, do share.

  4. Re: Glitches when changing portD seen on other ports

If it is a low level, it makes sense. Especially if there is no ground around the port lines.

But if it is more, then maybe some settings are wrong.

In any case, having a 0-5 volt square signal...
  5. Re: Doing something at predefined amount of steps?

Just did a quick test on the demo version of PICSimulator.exe with the attached hex file. This program was built for 16F84 and the whole basic code is this:

    led var portb.0

    start:
    high led...

Does this come close to what you want?

    SELECT CASE slider_adc
    CASE 300
    SELECT CASE head_rotation
    CASE 100
    do_this1
    ...

    Can't Select case help?

    Re: 16F887 hersout doesn't work

Before anything serious, I always try the stupid LED flash test program, best on a pin with no ADC, PWM etc. This way I am sure, clock is OK, configs are OK, so I can move on to the more juicy stuff....

    Re: 16F887 hersout doesn't work

    I would add also these:

    DEFINE HSER_BAUD 9600

And depending on the electric connection of your serial output (TTL or Inverter driver like MAX232 chip) also see this register:

    BAUDCTL =...

    Re: Component recomendations

Give special attention to the SOA as Henrik stated. At any current! Be carefull because high voltage has many traps.

Re: Is it possible to make LCDOUT asynchronous?

You have to change your way of thinking.

Give the timer example I posted on the other thread a chance and walk your way from there.

What you ask for is time sharing and the best candidate is...
  13. Re: Generate a non-blocking pulse with an Interrupt Service Routine

I do not agree. See this example where interrupt by Timer1 happens every 50ms and ISR increments time variable up to 20 and then toggles a LED.

All this while main loop is doing silly things.
    ...
  14. Re: Generate a non-blocking pulse with an Interrupt Service Routine

Your loop should take at least 50-100 ms for the buzzer to be enabled.

  15. Re: Generate a non-blocking pulse with an Interrupt Service Routine

PAUSE does exactly that. Pauses program execution for the pause time.

If that is OK with you then go ahead. But if you need to do something in that time, then you have to consider other ways.
    ...
  16. Re: Generate a non-blocking pulse with an Interrupt Service Routine

It can be done either by a timer and ISR or by a timer and without ISR.

In the second case, a tight loop is necessary. And no PAUSE command allowed!

The pulse is regularly generated, e.g. evey...
  17. Re: Non standard, 160 char LCD text displays, SPLC780 controller, anyone?

There are cheap graphics TFT with touch and are serially controlled. If you need more info to display check out the Nextion displays.

Used them for some experiments seems you can do magic with...

    Re: Stable Adc Reading Routine

You still do not seem to understand why this is happening.

If you want to say, switch ON or OFF a light if your ADC is more than 100 or less than 100 then you can fully understand that on that...

Dave, he has already the sensor that outputs data in manchester encoding but has not said, yet, how the data are sent. Maybe RF or cable?
