  1. Re: How many times the loop turns for Darrel's "Kylon" LED chaser?

I had to gave up with that code, because on a larger physical size, discrete steps were quite visible.
So I did another code instead, which works fine. Here's example.

    Re: Compiler (PBP v2.50C) errors

I had exactly same issue with voltages and found out that reason was ADCON not configured properly :D
  3. Re: why are we getting hit with all this spam?

Well, I know it is all related, but maybe sales are low, since there are no new statements/libraries/etc. introduced for last 10 years?
A lot of new periphery had surfaced, and competitors from...

Yeah ads are too intrusive - all these pop-ups and full screen b/s....
  6. Re: How many times the loop turns for Darrel's "Kylon" LED chaser?

Thanks! will give it a try - currently have no monitoring capabilities connected to the PIC. Only way to interact is to write data to EEPROM and check the value via pickit 3 standalone programmer....
  7. Re: How many times the loop turns for Darrel's "Kylon" LED chaser?

The values of these settings in my example provide the effect I need.
I just need to enclose that loop into FOR-NEXT, to be able to have control over it.
And the issue is, I can't count, how many...
  8. Re: How many times the loop turns for Darrel's "Kylon" LED chaser?

Copy-paste screwed up the code, here it is:

    Speed CON 24 ; Smaller=Faster
    TracerSpeed CON 15 ; Smaller=Faster Left/Right
Brightness CON 255 ; Tracers DutyCycle...
  9. How many times the loop turns for Darrel's "Kylon" LED chaser?

    Hello.

I want to use this code for my christmas light:

I've modified it for 5 leds and it works fine. However, I want it to not spin...

    Re: 4 Wire SPI with Shiftin/Shiftout ?

The code is posted above and connections are clearly seen from there and described :)

took brand new all parts, will try on breadboard later :)

    Re: 4 Wire SPI with Shiftin/Shiftout ?

Guys, issue is different - shiftout does not output any data on data pin. So for sure, there will be nothing to read with shiftin.
    This is the issue.

    Re: 4 Wire SPI with Shiftin/Shiftout ?

    It still does not works.
    I removed all LCD code
I mapped output to different port - still can't capture anything with scope.
And there are no issues with hardware - setting these pins high-low...

    Re: 4 Wire SPI with Shiftin/Shiftout ?

OK I moved these ports to C0 and C1.

    SCLK VAR PORTB.5 'CLOCK
TC VAR PORTC.1 'TO CHIP - WRITE
FC VAR PORTC.0 'FROM CHIP - READ
    RST VAR PORTB.4 'RESET

Set all ports to output, except FC, which...

    Re: 4 Wire SPI with Shiftin/Shiftout ?

    Hooked scope to pins.
There is series of pulses on SCLK and RST gets high and low as specified.
However, there is no activity on serial input/output lines.
To check the wiring, I wrote this simple...

Shiftout 6 changed nothing, so will hook up scope in logic analyzer mode and report.

    Re: 4 Wire SPI with Shiftin/Shiftout ?

Yes, I tried with mode 5 and it does not works, it also does not works with mode 4 or others.
MSSP or whatever it is, might be good, but are there direct support statements in PBP ?
    And also, I...

Well, MAX7219, DS1302 we use only 3 pins.
Yes, I'm missing two more bytes there, will add them later and post back :)

    4 Wire SPI with Shiftin/Shiftout ?

    Hello.
I'm trying to connect GT21L16S2Y Font ROM IC to PIC16F886.
I have soldered connections, but have not written code yet, because this chip has separate IN/OUT pins for SPI.

    Below is the...

Well, sometimes situation is reversed :D
There's a porn star, Lacy Lennon, she did quite good song (step-a-way), and put it on youtube. It was quickly climbing to tops, but people were annoyed so...

  21. Re: "Stretching" a byte variable into two byte variables?

I wanted it to be shorter, by using loop and

    X.Y=Z
but as I can see, you can't use another variable as bit reference, only static values.
  22. Re: "Stretching" a byte variable into two byte variables?

    and if it not?
  23. "Stretching" a byte variable into two byte variables?

    Hello :)
I don't know the exact term I need, so here's what I'm doing. Since I've created custom 8x8 fonts for ST7920, I also want it to be able to display bigger letters too. Stretching vertically...
  24. Re: Arraywrite converts all letters to uppercase?

    Compiler errors?
try to write or read past available eeprom - no errors will be given :)
I know, this may be called not a bug, but a feature, but even on ancient ZX Spectrum there was an error code...
  25. Re: Arraywrite converts all letters to uppercase?

Well, if you're into scrolling thru 500+ lines of code.....
I'm just trying to make things simpler :)
