  1. Re: 2 didit up down counter using 16F628A program errors

    Ray,

you said that the hex file worked! Then you ask for a hex that works. You already have that hex file.

First you need to find why all three programmers will not connect to your chip.

    1....

I am really happy and proud to have you Ray here on this forum. Hope I am still doing that stuff if I get on your age too!

Re: Weird problem with large(ish) array access

Can you test the program on different kind of PIC?

Also, without bootloader, it works OK without the magic PAUSE 5 line?

It does seem a RAM problem related to LONGs but Charles may help more....

  5. Re: Advices required for Soap dispenser / sanitizer code

I can only guess that it is not a clear 0-5 volt state.

And that is why he simulates the trigger pulse with the two resistors. All the way wrong approach...

  6. Re: Advices required for Soap dispenser / sanitizer code

I think you have it a bit mixed up!

First, a voltage divider like that will not trigger IOC reliable or at all.

Second, in case of an interrupt what should the program do? You do not have an...
  7. Re: Nokia lcd include , small footprint to suit pic16's

I know 3310 LCD is the cheapest graphic LCD one can buy, but the effort to display something is too much relative to the result (B/W bitmap).

Next best solution is the Nextion 2.4" at about 15...
  8. Re: Nokia lcd include , small footprint to suit pic16's

Maybe the MAX operator can do what you want.

Your check loop can be something like this:

    max_value = old_speed MAX speed

    old_speed = max_value

But this will lead eventually to a top value...
  9. Re: Nokia lcd include , small footprint to suit pic16's

    Can you define infinity please?

Your variables can be: bit (0-1), bytes (0-255), word (0-65535) and long (-2147483648 to 2147483647)

    Re: Heart rate sensor MAX30102

Use of such finger sensors need to have your finger cleaned from oil with alcohol (isoprop. alcohol or similar).

It is necessary for the sensors to keep working with consistency.

    Re: 12F683 _CONFIG problem

I think you refer to an ancient version of PBP.

Now we do not use this @ DEVICE MCLR_ON.....

    Current versions use this syntax:

    #config
    __config _INTRC_OSC_NOCLKOUT & _WDT_ON & _BOD_OFF...

Plus to the above, you still had one underscore instead of the correct two.

  15. Re: WS2812b and similar LEDs - do we need all time running tight loop for control?

The WS2812 have need fast pulses and your PIC should be fast as well.

The APA101 are more tolerate and can be much driven slower enough for any PIC to handle.

    Re: 8-bit Bootloader from Microchip

After using it with the Microchip IPE (which is not very good design IMHO), I found this one http://www.pickitplus.co.uk/Typesetter/ for my Pickit2 and Pickit3.

It is a stand alone application...

    Re: 8-bit Bootloader from Microchip

My advice. Forget all about bootloader. It just not worth it.

    With ICSP you have:

    1. Better programming speed
    2. Safer and works with ALL chips, not only with those that a bootloader exists....
  18. Re: Testing a GSM module via Mecanique's Serial Communicator - "terminator" issue?

Finally I found the module and time to test the SIM900 board.

  19. Re: 2G, 3G and 4G - how do I determine what my module is capable of?

The speeds of each protocol are these:

    LTE

    Uplink up to 50Mbps
    Downlink up to 100Mbps

    HSPA+

    Re: Serial Sharing

Depends on the driver. But does no harm to have a high-ish value, say of 10K just to fix a space condition on the serial bus.

    Re: Unable to execute MPASMX
