Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

    It all sounds horrible.

If I may take an enormous liberty and suggest that you take a step back and restate the problem. Describe the problem in simple terms. Don't think about solutions just...

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

Java (of which I know nothing other than imho it both blow and sucks - no flames please) script must allow key depressions, so if your app press the shift key, that status bit would be sent to the...

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

It all sound very complicated. But I get from your last post that the "person detector" going of at random intervals is an issue. Don't forget that the keyboards data flow is bi-directional in that...

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. IMHO PicBasic implementation of USB is not optimal but seems (I've only ever used it to run the samples, I normal live on the dark side) to be workable....

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

I'm not sure if this is helpful but on the few occasions if used HID keyboard to perform some app on the PC, I've invoked the app by sending the "r" "winkey" combination, followed by the name of the...

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

Well that seems clear but what I don't understand is why you would bother with the Holtek device? You still need a PIC of some flavour. so why even consider not going with the 25K50? Sound like an...

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

I use Saleae own, don't feel guilty (I don't. not one bit, if you use a reference design as your product, peeps are gonna use your software) because Saleae no longer make that model. Version 1.2.29...

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

Those are some good deals, if I could get a scope for $70 I'd take your arm off. Unfortunately (but in so many ways fortunately) I'm and Englishman living in Ireland, the market for electronics is...

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

FWIW. I know its great to have 'scope (I don't) but it seems to me that if you are playing with ucontrollers of whatever flavour a logic analyser is of much more value (and at significantly less...

Re: PIC USB HID breakout board

Bit bang serial can be hit and miss, specially if PIC device is using an internal RC clock. The lower the rate the more likely it is to work. There is always I2C or SPI attach UARTS.

Re: Is it possible to make LCDOUT asynchronous?

Bear in mind there is no point in updating the LCD faster than the brain can grasp, do a double buffer. In one buffer you have an image of what the LCD looks like now, you write to the other buffer...

Re: Pickit3 -- hate the friggin thing

I can't say I ever had the sort of problems Ioannis posted but PicKitPlus certainly covers a lot of Pic devices that the original doesn't.

As Richard posted, your code has potential dangers (RMW) so as advised use LAT rather than Port and

Re: Nextion Touchscreen LCD User Interface

Re: Pickit3 -- hate the friggin thing

I have always found with both Pk2 and Pk3 it's much safer to externaly power the device under test (bear in mind USB 2 will only supply 100mA)

  23. Re: ANNEX ESP8266 basic announcement and invitation

Be aware you need to tie GPIO 0 to ground to flash if your board can't autoflash. Other than that look to Serial problems. If you click on the blue text "Flashing procedure" you get an extensive list...

    Re: Pickit3 pin verify

The PicKit3 does not have a ZIF socket, so I assume the board with ZIF socket is an add-on board. I've never used one of these add-on boards but I imagine you need to set jumpers to suit the PIC...
