    Re: Stable Adc Reading Routine

That code gets 16 samples not 10. You just have to limit the samples from 16 to 5. But this is not very useful. Leave it as it is for ironing out the noise or parasites in the signal.

Re: ADC input signal filter selection

I prefer the inductor on the +Vdd side.

Anyway, I'd suggest get 10 or more samples in an array, then sort them in order and keep the middle 5 values.

Then add them together and divide by 5.

  3. Re: Motor Control Circuit (JPG Attached) for scrutiny and discussion...

At 5V I doubt the relay has 15mA current to set it ON.

Do use a transistor to drive it.

  4. Re: Need to drive 40 pins on variable change, is there a way to do it in elegant way?

Oh yes. I was carried away by the VOLT<1 or >1 and concluded you were checking for 1 volt and not 1 LSB.

    Sorry about that.

  5. Re: Need to drive 40 pins on variable change, is there a way to do it in elegant way?

This may oscillate around the set 180 volts about 36 volts!

    If I am not wrong, 180 to 5 needs a /36 divider. +/-1volt of control * 36= 36 volts.

    This may be a problem...

What is the actual DC output voltage?

This code is far away from output regulation anyway.

Is this correct? same assignment port bit?

It is his 3rd post that is irrelevant to the thread or on new thread.

Under supervision. Either playing or testing?

    Re: PicBasic Pro 2.46 Manual.

It is inside your PBP folder. And sure in your Start menu if you type in the search box Picbasic it will show up as PICBASIC PRO Reference Manual.pdf

    Re: Instant Interrupts - Revisited

Exactly what the name says! To interrupt the main routine for something urgent that needs to be done that instant and then return to the daily routine.

Say to update the timer counter exactly...

    Re: Instant Interrupts - Revisited

Richard was clear. IOC are available only for PortB<4:7> for this chip. So you have to connect your buttons on these lines for IOC.

    Look at DS, page 132.

But on post #783 Richard directed you...

    Re: Instant Interrupts - Revisited

I think is the Basic syndrome to create spaghetti programs mixed with a series of goto everywhere!

Even text books do not promote the Subroutines in basic language teaching. Maybe if variables...

    Re: Instant Interrupts - Revisited

My problem always was how to handle debounce in relation to interrupts. Sure Pause is not a good idea for an ISR.

This needs maybe an RTOS or, at least, a framework to base all operations once and...

    Re: CHECKSUM CALCULATION, Please Help!

As long as it is done in C I suppose the same resources will be consumed by PBP in that case too.

But not in the near future...

    Re: CHECKSUM CALCULATION, Please Help!

Well stated. Sure syntax is different and in my view twisted...

Anyway, one thing I'd like to have in PBP is the local variables.

    Re: Filling an array

Even a warning is a good thing to have.

It saves many hours of debugging if there is an error like mixing hex/dec as you said.

At least for constants it can be implemented.

  20. Re: PWM Motor Control with Soft Start, Soft Stop Example Please

    Well, OK.

This is just a as simple example as can it get, to help you start to experiment.

Say your PWM variable to output is my_pwm and the range of values is 0-255:

    my_pwm=0

    Re: Filling an array

    Seems the most logic.

Art wished for this as his example was based on constants, but if the compiler does not check for this in the first place, why care for constants?

  25. Re: PWM Motor Control with Soft Start, Soft Stop Example Please

Since you have the software, why would you put extra hardware for the soft start part?

Consider a loop with maybe a for-next to increase the PWM to the set point gradually.
