Some time ago I posted a question on here, if anyone would find a use for a TV display IC, and got quite a few replies saying yes, if it were available. Well now it is available, at least one version is so far - 1000 chars max, 50 columns, 8 colours, 21 lines, I can't put a picture up here (can I?) but here's a link:

Works directly with PAL TVs via a SCART input. Can be fed into composite input TVs (PAL or NTSC) by using a modulator IC. Useful alternative to small LCD displays. Data is fed in through a single wire serial input. Selectable baud rate.
It's mainly intended for displaying bar graphs and data as it's collected, but has plenty of other uses.
