Ethernet project with Arduino

This is an interesting project based on Arduino. I liked the user interface much.

I have been toying (struggling?) with the ESP wifi modules to do something similar, with partial success.

The advantages being cheaer hardware, perhaps simpler too. And, every node in your mesh would be wireless.

Incidentally, are you aware that the Arduino IDE can directly program an ESP8266 in its native mode for simple standalone projects? (Without involving an actual Arduino)
