It would make me feel all warm and fuzzy if PBP could be extended to program ATMEL and Freescale micro's too. Wouldn't it be cool to not have to learn another language to use them too?

I Know. Ihave to write code for a Chipcon RF chip with an 8051 core. I called Melabs about it, and they said PICs are their "core" business. Try Bascom for the "other guys". The big problem is finding a USB or serial programmer that isn't $600.-!!. Anyone else have ideas for the 8051? Yes...I know this is a PIC forum, but until Microchip comes up with a transceiver that is as good as the CC1110 or CC2430 with built in processor, I have to stray :<(

Not sure if the on-line list is up-to-date so far. You could still download the PG4UWARB software and look at it

About compilers... depending your budget Hi-Tech make really nice ones, MikroElektronika do some for cheap, but i can't vouch on them.
