This is primarily a forum about programming Microchip PICs and particularly using the MeLabs PICBasic compilers, although the subject matter varies a great deal, that is however the raison d'être of this forum.

You made me search for that one. But...

raison d'être
n. n. 'reason for being'; justification for existence. From the Dictionary of Difficult words (http://www.tiscali.co.uk/reference/dictionaries/difficultwords/data/d0010875.html)

I've learned my one thing for today. I think I'll go eat some more turkey. :)

The title of this thread is "I am amazed by the skills of some people here"

for those who wonder who "some people" are, take a look the the people who posted here!

so the title can actually be replaced by "to whom it may concern" and the people who would reply would also be the same "some people" :)

I think that the initial posting is spam of some sort. I came across the same post on a different forum yesterday. Did a google and found a whole lot more of the same post on a whole variety of forums.

Yup, it sure is.
It's amzing that for $400, you can buy a program that willhttp://www.darreltaylor.com/files/spam.gif the crap out of every Forum, Guestbook, and Wiki it can find, with any message you want. Automatically! It handles the registration, and even reads those funky pictures with the letters you have to type in. Can't imagine how they pulled that one off.

A forum Admin's nightmare.

I wish I bloody well could !!!!

Usually takes me a minimum of three attempts to get it right :(
