it's suppose to be done automatically ... well in MCSP.
Case you want to add a device, open the PIC.INI file and add it in

How do I add a new device in MCS v4.0.0.0 please?

I'd like to use PIC18F26K80 but it is not in its device (drop-down)list.

I can't find in my computer any of PIC.INI or DEVICE.ini files described in other threads or founds on the web, adding *.BAS or *.INC files in PBP doesn't seem to work either :(

Support for the PIC18F26K80 was added in PBP version 2.60C, and MCS should pick up on this if you have a version of PBP that supports the PIC18F26K80.

I may need to upgrade my PBP.

Thanks for the info.

If you have the free version of MicroCode Studio, it supports 16F877A, 18F25K20, 16F887, 18F452, 18F4520 PICs.

(I just happened to research this in the chat just now)

How do you make Microcode studio work in Win 7 with a 64 bit system? My MCS does not want to compile, just give me nasty message.

What is the message? What is the version?
You should not have a problem.

From the ChatBox

I have problems with Micro code Studio it does not want to compile. I upgraded my computer to Win 7. so there is a fault message "incompatability with windows 64 bit".

Compile with MPASM instead of PM.

I'd like to use PIC18F26K80...
I just learned from MICROCHIP that this PIC is not supported by my PICKit2 programmer which, btw, is already considered as obsolete = no update in sight.

New PBP + new programmer = pfffff......what's next? :(

Maybe another new PBP for 24F series and a new pogrammer again???

In that case I sure am gonna update :)

Thanks for the reply but I manage to fix the problem, re install Win7 with x86 (32 bit).
