Hi All,

My first posting as I seem to be able to resolve most of my issues by myself and by reading this forum!!

I want to interface to an anemometer that is reading wind speed and direction at a remote location. I don't know yet what the output of the anemometer is but I'm guessing it's serial type data.

That isn't really the issue - what I want to be able to do is have the ability to connect to that anemometer by way of a computer and a modem at my end and a modem at the other that is connected to the anemometer by way of the device I am now asking about.

I can't install a PC to handle the data comms between the anemometer and the modem so need to have a device that can take the info from the anemometer and send it to the modem and subsequently to me at the other end of the phone line.

Is this possible? If so any ideas on how I might go about it?

I can write the PC software no problems but I don't really know where to start with the PIC side of things.

Thanks

Tony
