led555
- 18th April 2006, 21:53
I have made a scrolling LED sign / marquee in PicBasic. If anyone is interested, I've posted ALL code (both PC and PIC side as well as Palm Pilot) and ALL schematics and other documentation at : http://uscinski.netfirms.com

I've also published it here :http://www.instructables.com/ex/i/CDDBE0821A0010299AD7001143E7E506/ ... with TONS of nice pictures!

Enjoy.

Sorry to ressurect a few month old thread, but does anyone have this information still? It seems neither of the posted links work. If you're still around, led555, would you be able to share this information again?

I'd like to build one of these as a project for my class, and this would surely help me iron out any questions I may have.

I'll be back and looking around this forum often, I'd say. Thanks everyone. :)

hi,

i noticed that my web page was getting a lot of hits, and since it's a free service, it only allows 100 executions per day. here's a better way around this... instead of executing the cgi script, just open these links one by one:

there are actually 8 zip files, here are the first 5... they are .rar files zipped up.... unzip all files, then unrar the first file... it will create an LEDsign folder with all the files in it.

Gentle men lets put every anger aside and discuss about the moving sign we have done before or intend to do with each other so that we can be of good help to one another.

Hello everybody
I use the program of Led555 everything works except the serial connection RS232.

When I send a message from visual BASIC, the PIC receives that zéros.

The configuration of the PC is good 19200bps, No Parity, 8 bits, and 1 stop bit.

What is that somebody can help me please

led555

knsteam,

Simple Google search got that result...
Ya know, you'd probably be better off buying a scrolling LED marque sign...

magu,

yes, i was also running into problems with a newer version. the cracking issue might have played a role... but i also think there are backward compatibility issues. if you'd like i can post the version i've used to create this pcb. let me know.

knsteam

Dear Led555

getserial:

Serin SERIALIN,N9600,char
write i, char
if char = EOM then
'iTMP = i 'debug

CTS = 0
'goto readeeprom 'debug

Goto start
endif
i = i + 1
goto getserial

In this part of the program when I send the message by the application VB " LED.sign.control " the variable char contains that 0. I do not know can result.

Excuse me for my English (I am French)

Your Project is very good. I am in the same situation like Magu. I cannot open PCB file. I use Eagle 4.16 but I think that there is a compatibility problem. Please, send me the Eagle version used to make this file in order to solve the problem.
thanks!!!!!!
