If you are after a solution for a level shifter here is an interresting Application Note from PHILIPS
AN97055 (http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat_download/applicationnotes/AN97055.pdf)

With SOT23 FETs and 805 (or 1206) Resistors it takes minimal PCB space.
