Morning,
I've got a project that has a 2x8 Optrex LCD, and I could really use a 2x16 in it's place. My problem is the board size only allows a module that measures 60 mm wide by 35 high maximum. It has to be OEM, not surplus, and I'd prefer not to get started with a graphic board.
Any ideas???

Thanks,
Ron

Ron Marcus, Do a search for chip on glass displays. I don't know what your housing looks like but the chip on glass displays are about as small as you can get. Most of them are not backlit.

OK, I got a couple of "Dogs" to play with... It uses the ST7036 driver. My first question is: Is this compatible with LCD out in PBP, and has anyone used the serial input function instead of using up six PIC pins? Any tips?

Ron,

I haven't tried the DOGs yet, but

the controller is supposed to be HD44780 compatible, so it should work with LCDout.

In serial mode it should work anyway.
