I've loaded a USB project in .zip format on our site for anyone interested in testing/playing with the 18F4550 full-speed USB PIC.

http://www.rentron.com/mcstudio/USB_AD.zip

It's a full installation of the software application [you don't need VB], pre-compiled .hex & raw PBP/asm files for the PIC. The software app is a single-channel analog [0 to 5VDC] volt-meter with a strip-chart, logging to file, samples counter & few extra bells & whistles.

There is no schematic. Just wire an 18F4550 as shown here http://www.mecanique.co.uk/products/usb/easyhid.html with a pot on RA0.

You'll want to dowload & install the Mecanique EasyHID software also. I've included the pre-compiled .hex file for anyone that doesn't have PBP v2.46.

I'll be posting this all as a project with details on how it works on our site once I find the time. Untill then, everyone's welcome to download the ready to run version.

No warranty, use at your own risk, yada-yada... and all the usual disclaimer stuff.....;o]
