Your prices look good. Do you do assembly?

Another question...

Your webpage indicates you need a README file with the Gerbers, explaining the layer names, etc. Can this be a text file (e.g. created with Notepad)? Some of your competitors in China need this to be a PDF or Excel file in order to read it with any formatting (e.g. tabs).

Interesting.

What would be considered as "normal size"?

Also, how much would shipping and handling be for 10pcs double-layer to Montreal, Quebec, Canada?

Hello Friend,

Txt file is enough. you could zip it into gerber data for our checking purpose, you could also specify in the email. The key is make your spec clear enough. Normally for first order, we will talk with you the default spec is Lead free HAL, ROHS, Green solder mask with White silkscreen....

I forgot to ask what is the MOQ for "large mass production"?

The prices look very good - if my conversions of in² to cm² & m² are correct.

It would be much easier to make comparisons if the prices were quoted per board rather than per cm².:)

See PCBCart.com (http://pcbcart.com) and ezPCB.com (http://ezPCB.com) for examples.

I have received email quotes for three boards...

0.6"x1.6"
0.75"x0.75"
4.250"x3.000"

The two small boards will each cost $49 for 10 pcs; the larger board exceeds their limits (800cm²) and 10 pcs will cost $63 for a total of $136 + $30 estimated shipping to the USA.

For 100 pcs, costs are $35, $49, and $156 with shipping estimated at $60.

The boards all meet their standard specifications. They include a discount for the forum. The prices are very attractive. I plan to order & test the 10pc prototypes and will order 100 of each if all is OK. I'll try to remember to post here about the quality of the prototypes.

Hello Friend,

For 2 layer, MOQ size is roughly more than 2 m2
For 4 layer, MOQ size is roughly more than 3 m2
But it is flexible, depending on exchange rate, price change
of raw material, and production capacity of the fab house at
the ordering time....

So, when your initial design is mature and has its market, feel
free to contact us, we also do assembly here in China.

My principle is to grow up with every client, and at the same time
to earn a margin to make a living.

Best Regards,

Iris

One of these two examples you refer to me, I must confess I worked there for a short while in the year 2006, boss is very kind person. I hope his business could become better and better...

I will modify the quotation page to include English unit, thank you very much for your suggestion.

I ordered these on 12 May. Last Friday (19 May) they emailed that they had shipped the previous day but were held up in customs and, if they could not resolve the issue, would have to remake the boards.

They arrived today so I assume they resolved the customs issue (and learned how to avoid future issues).

The quality looks very good so I have no hesitation in recommending them.

EDIT: One caveat: They cut all of the boards apart. I would normally expect the smaller boards to be panelized and v-grooved but I did not specify that. Anyway, it might require that they take up a full panel for it to be done that way.

Thank you for your recommendation.

;) So glad. next time pls specify to panelize smaller boards...

and I will discuss this point with you before fabrication.

Cheers,

Hi Iris,
I am planning to make a pcb in 10x15 inch panel including 3 or 4 designs.
I wonder how do I specify where to make a v-score in Altium design (10)?

Did you submit panelized Gerbers, with instructions for scoring, and they cut them all apart, or did you just send them a few single board files with a request for multiple boards per file?

Just curious. I was considering trying them, but we need scored panels.

I just submitted singles. The fault was mine. I was accustomed to automatically getting scored panels for small parts from other suppliers (whom I've posted about here) BUT those were for larger quantities which filled a panel (or more). And, as CircuitMart (http://www.circuit-mart.com/)noted, they will do this on request.

I would have no hesitation ordering from them (http://www.circuit-mart.com/)or from ezPCB (http://www.ezpcb.com/ezpcbweb3/index.php). I will likely use one or the other depending on the details.

One of the boards CircuitMart made for me had 24 very closely spaced (30 mil diameter, 50 mil centers) unplated holes. One of my other preferred suppliers was afraid of it which was what led me to try CircuitMart who handled them perfectly.
