Does any one know when the 18F14K50 is going to be supported

The device has been out for months now and I need to recompile a program for this chip.

I know Melabs are slow producing updates but this is getting ridiculous.

Maybe I am reading something wrong but I would say that chip is supported.

Yup, 18F13K50/14K50 was added in the latest version ... 2.60

Nice "LITTLE" USB chip.

I own & use 6 different PIC compilers, and MeLabs has always been the 1st to support new PIC types. Even before I could actually get a new one to test.

Absolutely!

What did we get this time? ... 6 or 7 new statements, a whole bunch of new chips,
and an entire new library for those chips we can't get. :(

Which reminds me ....
Let me know when you get some of those E versions Bruce.
Can't seem to get them on my own yet.

Perhaps you are unaware that the Pic18F14K50 is a USB chip

So USB has been available since 2.60 on the 14K50?

To save you the trouble answering its not.

Any way I'm converting the code over to another compiler I do not have time to wait any more.

Do you have PBP 2.60 ?

If you are having problems with your project post it.
I am sure someone here could help.

I thought I had the latest version but I'm not at the right PC now

When did 2.6 come out?

Has it been since the middle of July?

Any way I'm half way through my conversion now, I was trying to save me the trouble of doing it. But it will be quicker to finish it now and move on.

I heard about 2.60 a couple of weeks ago. It was not out in July.

Actually a number of distributors appeared to have had it mid-July... and it was mentioned on this forum not long after.

I do wish MeLabs would put a release DATE in their Version History on their website - and UPDATE it to reflect the current release status!

C'mon guys, it's been a month since you released this product and your website still says the latest release is 2.50!!!!!!!!

Actually, the answer is YES!
In version 2.60, USB on the 14K50 works just fine. Already tested it.

Those chips only have 1 bank of USB memory at 0x200 instead of several banks at 0x400 like the 2550/4550. So be sure that the other compiler you are using supports USB on the 14K50, because it's different.

Looking at the email sent when my copy of 2.60 was shipped, it was 7/14/09.
I'd say that's "mid July".

Mid July....
I need to get out more ....
Where did everyone SSS hear about it?

I'm pleased to hear that it now supports it, every time I looked could not see any info on the updates page that a new version was out.

The compiler I converted the old program too has supported the 14K50 for some months now and I have written several programs already so I know the code is good.

I still have to do some more typing to finish the conversion but the code is smaller so its worth the effort and the 14k50 has different peripherals so the code has to be adapted any case.

You had at least heard the rumors by July 12.

At that point, contact your distributor and pre-pay for the next version.
If your distributor does that.

YUP, Jeff told me a few months ago that a new version was in the works. Being that I buy directly from Melabs I was checking the web site every so often and never saw it mentioned there. Figured there was no reason to pre-pay if it was going to be awhile yet.

Oh well, it is out now and maybe everyone knows about it..

Personally, I think there should be an automatic upgrade option.

When the next version comes out ... ship it to me.
Don't wait for me to hear the news.

Charge my card, whatever ... just give it to me baby!

That would be good.
Maybe they will do that some day.
